IndraTRAIL-Furlo (English Version)

Route: Sant’Anna del Furlo – Sant’Ubaldo – La Pradella – Furlo – Rifugio del Furlo – Pietralata – Pelingo – Furlo – Sant’Anna

Time 3 / 3.5 hours. Distance about 37km – Altitude Difference 1300m

Start out from Sant’Anna, near the church, and climb immediately following the signs for the Ca I Fabbri refuge. After about an hour’s ascent, arrive at the Sant’Ubaldo antennae. Continue straight on (unless you want to stretch around the peak of Paganuccio, turning left for Ca i Fabbri) and after a mostly flat part, begin to descend towards the La Pradella refuge. At the next fork, continue straight downhill until reaching the Tarugo-Furlo road. Take a right and continue downhill towards the village of Furlo (once you have almost reached the village, watch out for the fork in the road so as not to miss the minor road that, crossing the small bridge over the Candigliano, takes you right next to the La Ginestra restaurant). Continuing in an easterly direction on the old Flaminia road, after a few hundred metres (immediately after the Furlo bar) take the diversions to the left immediately uphill that passes behind the small nature museum. This marks the start of the second climb, which, following asphalt first and then dirt road, will take us to the Furlo refuge and then around the summit of Pietralata. Changing slope we look out over Montefeltro, and continuing on an almost level stretch we arrive at the beginning of the descent that leads to the church of Pietralata and then to the Pelingo monastery. From here we ride along the asphalt of the old Flaminia road, passing again through the Furlo village. Continuing along the Candigliano, inside the beautiful walls of the gorge, we pass the ancient Roman tunnel and return to the starting point.
